More about Chhering Negi,

Chhering Negi pursued his Master’s in Graphics from Kala Bhavan, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan in 2012 and Bachelor’s in the same from Government College of Art, Chandigarh, Punjab University in 2010. He is currently practicing at the Lalit Kala Akademi Graphic studio in New Delhi.

Chhering explores portraits for their ability to express multi-layered meanings. Personal stories can be mulled upon through the character’s visage.

The portraits not only capture the individual’s essence through expressions but also present the possibility of revealing the artist’s own reflection. The artist boldly states that “this is an acknowledgement of the spirit of being human and surviving, with all the odds against and all the joys that life has to offer.”
