She used the Dhokara casting technique for this sculpture. Dhokara casting is a technique where the first step involves carving the sculpture in Clay then covering it with wax strips and then another covering of clay on top, then when heated the wax strips melt away leaving behind a hollow cast to be filled with melted metal, hence creating a hollow metal sculpture.
