Self-taught abstract expressionist and a visual artist based out of New Delhi, India.
Vasudha Bakshi is an abstract expressionist. a literature graduate, she is interested in expressing that which lies beyond the scope of language.
Her works in abstract expressionism are produced with an array of mediums, almost always consisting of pigments and acrylics on primed or unprimed linen canvases. Her first series, Malerie (2021), was conceptualized during the second wave of the pandemic, as she was trying to capture the visceral feeling of misfortune. The series—with its use of mixed media and everyday materials to render a tactile texture— deals with the inevitability of ruin and decay that plagues the material world.
