Darshan Manjare
Darshan Manjare is a visual artist based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He completed his BFA in Painting from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai in 2019 and his MFA from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai in 2023. He has been a part of various group exhibitions such as RIVERS AND ROAD: meandering stories of India, 2023 at AAIE Centre for Contemporary Art; ‘A Visual Loss-In Space, 2022 at Nine Fish Art Gallery, Mumbai along with being a part of Arthshila × Khoj Residency in 2022.
Darshan’s practice is a creative attempt to showcase the evolution of rural culture and lifestyle. Being someone who comes from a family of farmers, he finds the oversight of the importance of nature a rather alarming act. For Darshan, nature serves as an inspiration for artistic expression, which guides him to incorporate elements such as soil and clay in his works.
